Monday night LIVE at Collective Space: Improv Games and Exercises Workshop, all skill levels.
Come and join Tanner as she holds space for the group to explore improv games, exercises, and connection in fun. What happens is up to the group that comes, to have fun in a safe space and create embodied stories together. The hope is that a group of folks will come together consistently, and some folks will just drop in when they can, and grow into a fun improvised theater troupe. This could lead to opportunities to Express at shows, events, gatherings, and on camera (but definitely no pressure to!)
Exchange: $5-10 minimum sliding scale donation
Space holder bio:
Tanner is a creatrix and an empath, hoping to spread childlike wonder like one spreads seeds into the wind. She has been doing theatre and improv for over ten years and is ready to try her hand at teaching/ guiding.
Tanner is holding space and vision with support from other local experienced improv extraordinaires such as Perry Kare and Joelique MacGregor to create a collective improv group in a safe space.
Some of the possible quick exercises and games to get warmed up:
An impulse section, where we tune into each other before we do any improvisation. We will stand in a circle closely and one person at a time we will count as high as we can before two people say a number at the same time, it’s called The Count. The second game we will play is another impulse game, where we train ourselves to act quickly under pressure. We stand in a circle close together, when your name is called you tap either the back of the person on your left or right, and when you are tapped on the back you say a name of someone in the circle, and it goes on until someone “messes up” and they leave the circle. Another game we might play is another standing in a circle impulse game, we form a big circle and put one person in the Center with their eyes closed, they are instructed to walk in the direction their intuition tells them, meanwhile everyone forming the circle will be intentionally and energetically pushing the person in the Center to one specific person forming the circle.
